THE GRAIL REPORT

Issue #8 • Friday, December 22, 2025

A short issue this week due to vacation and the holidays! Still enough time though to check out some of this week's releases and some other announced releases though (I see you Nigos x Nike Air Force 3 in the Oregon color way).

The Complex Podcast goes deep with an experienced reseller who gives the most balanced view of what's going on in the sneaker market these days.

Lastly, we take a look at a couple of focused collections from Redditors, which consistently are one of my favorite things to look at. Happy holidays!

This podcast looks like a raw insider's take on sneaker reselling's current state. Andre Arias from Sole Street is bringing real knowledge about why the market's struggling - they're breaking down whether resellers are actually "down bad" in 2025, and dissecting key industry shifts like Jerry Lorenzo leaving Adidas and the potential comeback of Air Jordan 14s.

Kobe 3 Protro “Christmas,” Air Jordan 40/16, And This Week’s Best Releases

NEWS • 12/21/2025

The Kobe 3 Protro "Christmas" drop is a great holiday release and there's a few others coming out this week to keep your eye on. The Air Max 90 Croc Skin was another one that caught my eye, but I doubt I'll pick up any of these.

NIGO Takes the Nike Air Force 3 Low to College With Pendleton

NIGO Takes the Nike Air Force 3 Low to College With Pendleton

NEWS • 12/22/2025

NIGO keeps pushing the Air Force 3 Low into weird territory, which is fun, and this Pendleton collab actually makes sense along with the use of the best color way of all time (Oregon Ducks). The wool fabric integration and varsity jacket vibes work way better than those random croc leather versions from before.

Nike Drops More Workboot-Style Dunks Low For Winter

Nike Drops More Workboot-Style Dunks Low For Winter

NEWS • 12/22/2025

Nike's pushing these workboot Dunks because they know the Panda colorway proved people want one shoe that handles everything. The chunky sole and rugged materials make sense for winter, but honestly these feel like Nike playing it safe rather than taking real risks. They're betting on function over innovation here, but I like sneakers as dress/work shoes more than if these were just some generic brown dress shoes.

Jordan 5 Collection from a Redditor

REDDIT • 12/22/2025

I love a focused sneaker collection for many reasons and Redditor "Business-Neck6332" shoes one reason why. His collection of Jordan 5s shows a lot of the color and variety you can find in a single sneaker model you love.

991v2 Collection from Redditor Jaymann34

REDDIT • 12/21/2025

Speaking of focused collections, Redditor Jaymann34 shows us how the 991v2 hits different than most New Balance models because of that chunky midsole and the way the upper materials layer together. So many dad shoes and so little time!

The Swarovski x Air Jordan 1 High OG Will Cost You Over $1,000 USD

The Swarovski x Air Jordan 1 High OG Will Cost You Over $1,000 USD

NEWS • 12/22/2025

The $1,000+ price tag is wild but also makes sense when you see those crystal placements - they ditched the uniform coverage from the Low for these flowing, organic sections that actually look intentional. Spring 2026 feels like forever to wait, but at least they're doing women's sizing first instead of treating it like an afterthought.
